I like this. Most hiring processes are really trying to borrow information from the future. Skills show up quickly. Commitment and mission fit don't. The longer the process, the more it tries to answer questions that normally only time can.

I can confirm what you wrote about rejection by an EA org being different. The willingness of hiring managers to support my on-going job-search has been amazing!

Even to the point that, having experience this in the EA world, I decided to take it with me back to the world of chemical engineering by providing detailed feedback, advice, contacts and so on to good applicants I had to reject. It was a climate-start-up, so applicants were both fantastic scientists and very impact-minded, and I looked to motivate them to keep looking for an impactful role.
